Our Erasmus Exchange Week 2026 - SPRAY PAINT, PIZZA AND NEW FRIENDS

Monday, 02.03.2026 On Monday the Italian exchange partners arrived at the airport in Düsseldorf and we welcomed them with many posters. We had lunch together at the Mensa at our school. After that we went home with our exchange students and spent the evening together and getting to know one another.
Tuesday, 03.03.2026 Tuesday was a very cool day because we were at a Pina Bausch workshop and we learned a nice dance. We also did other fun things. We had a little break in the city and visited the Rathaus in Barmen, where we were in the large meeting room with the 2nd city mayor, Mr. Fragemann. He even gave us a present of a pen.
Wednesday, 04.03.2026 On Wednesday we made a graffiti artwork in the school stairs with an artist sprayer. First we talked about our ideas and the design with the artist. Then we sprayed different colors and letters on the wall. It was a lot of fun to work together and everyone had good ideas. In the end, the graffiti looked really cool. We wrote the EU values like RESPECT, UNITY and FREEDOM on the wall.
Thursday, 05.03.2026 On Thursday we went to Düsseldorf with our exchange students. We visited the Banksy Museum and had a guided tour in English. During the tour we learned many interesting things about the artist Banksy and his street art. We saw different artworks and heard the stories behind them. After the tour, we were allowed to walk around Düsseldorf in small groups for two hours. We explored the city, looked at some shops, and enjoyed spending time together. It was a very fun and interesting day.
Friday, 06.03.2026 On Friday we went to the WDG (Wilhelm Dörpfeld Gymnasium). Students presented a sustainability project to us there and showed us a product which helps collect empty bottles and cans at rubbish bins. Afterwards we went to the Historische Stadthalle. We even stood on the huge stage for a bit, this was cool. In the evening we had our Erasmus party with drinks, food and dancing. We showed our parents what we had learned during the week. We had a lot of fun!
Saturday, 07.03.2026 Saturday was a family day, so we had to decided what we wanted to do with our exchange partners. I went to a climbing park with my exchange partner. We tried different climbing courses and had a lot of fun together. After that, I met Leni and her exchange partner. Together we went to L’Osteria to eat pizza. The pizza was very delicious and we talked a lot and laughed together. In the end, it was a really nice and fun day.
Sunday, 08.03.2026 On Sunday the exchange students flew back to Italy. We said goodbye at the airport and it was a little sad because we had spent a nice time together. The exchange was a great experience and we will remember it for a long time.
